Nathan first founded Inspire9 Development in 2006, a web product development company where he partner with startups to build high quality web and mobile products. The last few products we’ve shipped include Obsurfation, Hello Sunday Morning and the Builder App.
In 2009 he founded Inspire9, a coworking and startup community based in Richmond, Victoria. Inspire9 is at the heart of tech startup entrepreneurship scene in Melbourne, with over 40 startups who base themselves from the space and a greater network of over 1,000 members. A large number of community groups also call Inspire9 home and hold their monthly meetups and workshops at the space, including Lean Startup Melbourne, who’s meetups attract over 300 people.
Nathan’s other entrepreneurial interest includes being founder of Melbourne’s startup seed accelerator AngelCube. The Y-Combinator-style accelerator has one intake per year of around 10 companies. Each year the program typically receives in excess of 200 applications, of which 20 are shortlisted for interviews and 10 are selected. The formal part of the program runs for 13 weeks with a focus on achieving product market fit. The program is concluded with a pitching tour, which includes demo days in Melbourne, Sydney, San Francisco, Silicon Valley and New York. In the past we’ve had successes with companies such as LIFX, who raised $1.3 million on Kickstarter and went on to raise a Series A of $2 million; and App.io, who were invited into 500 Startups and went on to raise $1.2 million.
During his downtime, Nathan loves to surf and cycle.
